The Beach Cities Swing Band was founded in early 2000 by a small group of music lovers who were trying to revive the instrumental music program in the El Segundo schools. Over the years the Beach Cities Swing Band has seen many changes in membership and growth in musical artistry. Each member comes to the band out of love for music and a shared camaraderie that comes from challenging each other’s musical skills, and then performing the results in public.

This talented group of musicians is committed to keeping big band swing and jazz alive and well in our beach cities community by participating in the Beach Cities Swing Band and performing at popular music and dance venues as well as at corporate and private parties. They perform on the third Sunday of every month in the ballroom at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo. This July they will perform for the first time at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach as part of the Concerts in the Park series.

February's swing dance at the Automobile Driving Museum was an extra-special occasion, as our friend Betty celebrated her birthday, and the skilled videographers at AmazingMemories.net captured some special moments and posted them on YouTube.
The Beach Cities Swing Band performs the third Sunday of each month at the museum, and the dance floor is filling up more and more each month. It's a great venue for a birthday, anniversary, or other celebration, or just an evening of dancing.
